Drury University will offer bachelor’s degree courses on the campus of North Arkansas College

HARRISON, AR., March 3, 2022 – Drury GO, Drury University’s evening and online program, will soon begin offering undergraduate-level courses at North Arkansas College in Harrison, Arkansas.
The partnership brings two on-campus seated courses taught by Drury adjunct faculty and can be applied to nine Drury bachelor’s degree programs and two certificate programs.

- LDST 331 Negotiation and Conflict Resolution3 hours

This course examines the causes and effects of conflict as well as ethical issues. Students will use case studies and simulations to practice their conflict resolution skills. An investigation of the theoretical and practical aspects of conflict assessment, negotiation, problem solving and mediation is an integral part of this process.

- PSYC 312 Positive Psychology, 3 hours

Positive psychology seeks to understand optimal human behavior. It emphasizes a scientific approach to knowing, guiding, healing, educating and helping people to flourish.
This partnership is an expansion of a previously established relationship between Drury and North Arkansas College. In 2015, an articulation agreement was signed allowing Northark students to transfer their two-year associate degree to Drury to pursue a four-year bachelor’s degree.
“At Drury GO, we aim to meet students where they are in order to break down barriers to education,” said Aaron Jones, Acting Executive Vice President of Drury GO and Executive Vice President of University Relations. and General Counsel. “We are excited to expand on our great relationship with North Arkansas College and bring Drury to Harrison, allowing Northark students easier access to our courses.”
“Northark is focused on expanding partnerships to benefit the communities we serve,” said Northark President Dr. Rick Massengale. “Anyone who has taken or graduated from Northark can enroll in these courses and pursue their bachelor’s degree on our campus.”
On March 3, Drury GO staff and Drury President Dr. Tim Cloyd traveled to Harrison to meet with North Arkansas College President Rick Massengale and sign the Memorandum of Understanding. Classes will be available for students on March 21, 2022.
