Data Scientist – IT-Online
Purpose of work:
Drive the collection, pre-processing and operational analysis of data within a subset of Group data under the direction of the Data and analytics officer. Build business analytical models to solve business problems and provide business insights to enable sustainable business growth support and profitability. Analyze large amounts of business and customer data to find patterns to improve the Company’s service offerings and customer experience (CX).
Identify valuable analytical data sources and automate collection and storage processes to ensure quick access to analytical data when needed.
Undertake pre-processing of structured and unstructured data to enable accurate analytics.
In collaboration with ICT and under the supervision of the Data and Analytics Manager, design and implement data and storage warehouses for easy business retrieval of key metrics.
Assist in the implementation of the group’s data management program, including data technologies, processes and policies across the enterprise.
Expand and enrich Company data with third-party information sources as needed.
Improve direct and indirect data collection procedures to include relevant information for building analytical systems.
Processing, cleaning and verification of data collected and maintained to improve the integrity of data used for analysis.
Perform operational data analysis and forecasting using insights within the group to optimize business performance in a subset of data.
Feature selection, creation and optimization of classifiers using machine learning techniques.
Analyze operational and customer data to uncover and identify patterns embedded in the data using industry-leading methods.
Perform ad-hoc operational analysis, review data and present findings (results) in a clear manner to the Data and Analysis Manager.
Creation of automated data anomaly detection systems and constant monitoring of its performance.
Analyze large amounts of insurance, operational and customer data to uncover trends and patterns that could be used to improve operational performance.
Build predictive models and machine learning algorithms to solve identified business challenges and requirements, eg predictive lapse models.
Present information to key business stakeholders for business decision making and performance measurement using data visualization techniques.
Propose solutions to business challenges.
Collaborate with relevant business stakeholders as appropriate, CX teams and product development teams to optimize business processes, product value propositions and customer experience.
Bachelor’s degree in data science, management information systems, statistics, analytics or related field.
Knowledge of R, SQL and Python will be an advantage.
Experience and knowledge required:
3-5 years of experience with a proven track record in data science or service industry.
Experience in designing, developing, verifying and validating applied, descriptive, prescriptive and predictive analytics.
Experience in data mining.
Knowledge of sales and marketing strategies and tactics.
