Navigating COVID and adjusting to our new work environment was a challenge, as stated, but it would have been much more difficult without great technology partners to provide us with the product and resources we would need to streamline the new systems. within our company. Two technological partners – and – provided us with the integrated CRM and cloud storage solutions we needed as essential pieces of our technology platform to streamline and evolve our growing organization.
In the early stages of verifying which customer relationship management (CRM) system would work best for us, we spoke to many companies in the industry who pitched their value proposition to us. At the time, we were currently using Salesforce as a CRM solution and although it was a great system, we found ourselves spending too much time on personalization. Salesforce was a tool capable of doing what we wanted, but internally we lacked the knowledge to build it according to our specific needs.
After looking at many potential solutions, we knew that Salesforce had the capacity to accomplish what we were trying to do in the present as well as where we wanted to go in the future. With that in mind, we changed the scope of our research and were introduced to an innovative company that was a perfect fit for Practifi – a business management platform powering growing financial advisory firms around the world. A system that has been designed and built for the needs of growing RIAs, family offices and brokers. The best part was that their CRM solution is powered by Salesforce but with a custom overlay to make us look what we wanted, with the features we needed as they specialized in our space. Additionally, the migration from standard Salesforce to Practifi involved a true database migration as opposed to a plug-and-play implementation.
While most of the platform meets our needs from day one, we were able to work with the great team at Practifi to customize the areas of the overlay for some of our unique business needs. Having them as a partner has allowed us to focus on effectively presenting it to our advisors and their teams, while working on the technical side of making Bleakley’s vision a reality. We continue to work with the team, constantly developing new processes and workflows to help our business run efficiently while thinking of the next best thing to help us both stay ahead of the game.
Shortly after our implementation of Practifi, they introduced us to Egnyte – which would serve as a cloud governance solution. It was a trusted platform to secure and manage all of our company files, regardless of the workplace – and the best part was that it integrated seamlessly with Practifi. We no longer had to access customer information from multiple sources. Our teams of advisers would go to a client in Practifi and would be able to recover all the files related to this household in one click. Bleakley could also eliminate the need for secure emails, which can be tedious for customers to send sensitive information to us by sending us a secure Egnyte link so that customers can easily share their files with us and automatically file them correctly in the right homes. .
Again, when we were forced to work from home due to COVID, we didn’t have to connect to a VPN or need remote access apps to be able to view customer documents. Everything was web based and available in our CRM system – creating a one stop shop for all our data. Egnyte also allows users to access information through other channels besides Practifi – a desktop app, a web version for easily editing documents and collaborating with team members in real time, and a fully-featured app. functional available on your mobile device.
Without having the foresight of the challenges COVID would bring us in 2020, having it all fully functional a few months before March 2020 was a game-changer for Bleakley. Choosing the right partners to work with has also played a key role in Bleakley’s ability to effectively implement systems across the enterprise and customize them as needed.
